overview

The life of the Rasman, a family of Istrian exiles relocated to the outskirts of Trieste, is upset by the unjust murder of Riccardo, a mentally disabled boy, by the Police, who compressed him during the arrest, to the point of causing him asphyxiation. For the elderly parents and sister Giuliana, the mild sentence imposed on the policemen is insufficient, but no one seems willing to listen to them. In an attempt to elaborate such an incomprehensible event, alternative theories and interpretations emerge to explain all the injustices suffered. Behind Riccardo’s death there could be the same enemy who for years has been hatching plans to take possession of their land. The truth escapes any attempt to deepen, the only certain fact remains a lacerating lack.
